| Crowns A crown covers a tooth and restores its normal shape. A crown may be used to protect a weak tooth from breaking, or to restore a broken tooth when there isn't enough support left for a filling. Crowns may also be used to cover teeth that are discolored. There are several different materials used in making crowns, and our dentists will work with you to determine the best options for your situation. Crowns may also be used to attach a bridge or to restore a dental implant. Although the majority of crowns are completed in two visits, there is sometimes a need for additional visits to ensure a proper fit. Bridges Tooth loss can affect the way you eat, speak, and the alignment of other teeth in your mouth. A fixed bridge may be an option to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A bridge attaches to the teeth near a missing tooth and closes the gap. There are many different designs and materials that may be used for bridgework. Our doctors will help you decide what option is best. Like crowns, bridges typically take two or more visits to complete.
